MARS HILL, N.C. - The Mars Hill men's soccer team (2-1-2, 2-1-1 SAC) drew 1-1 versus Tusculum (1-1-1, 0-1-1 SAC) Saturday evening inside the Ammons Family Athletic Center and Meares Stadium.
The Lions opened the scoring in the 15th minute as Fabio Berrer potted his first as a Lion, taking a Sebastian Bertilsson pass from the right wing and burying it behind goalkeeper Joao Kozlowski.
In the 28th minute, Damien Baltide found himself all alone on the left side of the box and snapped a shot by Brennan Whalen just inside the far post to tie the game at one.
Despite being outshot 9-6 by the Lions in the first half, Tusculum outshot Mars Hill 12-4 in the final 65 minutes of play.
Kozlowski made four saves while Brennan stopped six shots.
The Lions return to the pitch on Wednesday, March 24 when they host Lincoln Memorial. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
