MHU opens home schedule versus C-N
Andres Bodington wins two events (500 & 1650 yard freestyle) in Lions' home opener.
MARS HILL, N.C. - The Mars Hill men's swim team opened their 2024-25 home schedule, falling to Carson-Newman by a score of 112-93 Saturday afternoon.
Mars Hill won several individual events, kicked off by Andres Bodington's decisive victory in the 1650 freestyle, recording a time of 16:34.91, nearly 20 seconds better than the Eagles' Jack Hebert. Bodington also took first in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 4:41.76, also with a 20-second gap between the next closest swimmer.
Luka Jankovic, in his Harrell Pool debut, won the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 1:46.77 while Juan Jose Moncada won the 400 yard IM, turning in a time of 4:05.80, placing 16 seconds ahead of the second place finisher.
In the 100 yard butterfly, Juan Garcia took first in a close race, finishing with a time of 51.25. Jakub Szpaler, in the 100 yard backstroke, won with a time of 49.87.

Mars Hill returns to the pool on November, 1 when they host King and Emmanuel. The meet is set for a 6 p.m. start.
