
Shelton earns All-American honors at NCAA DII Championships
Shelton placed 8th at NCAA DII Indoor Track & Field National Championships, earning 1st Team All-American.
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Sophomore Jesse Shelton earned First Team All-American status at the conclusion of the NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field National Championships.
Shelton qualified for his second consecutive Indoor Track & Field National Championship in Shot Put. The meet took place at the Fall Creek Pavillion in Indianapolis, IN.
Shelton earned a trip to the finals on his third attempt with a throw of 17.88m. This remained his best on the day. Shelton finished eighth overall out of 18 qualified competitors, earning First Team All-American honors.
Shelton earned one point towards the Mars Hill team score. Mars Hill finished tied for 49th out of 67 teams.

Shelton finished his Indoor campaign with two new school records in Shot Put and the Weight Throw, Conference Championship event wins in both Shot Put and Weight Throw, All-Region honors, and All-Academic honors.
