Shelton named SAC Field Athlete of the Week
He has now earned both an indoor and outdoor Athlete of the Week honor this season.
ROCK HILL, S.C. - Mars Hill outdoor track & field's Jesse Shelton was named the South Atlantic Conference WePlayed Sports Field Athlete of the Week, as announced by the league Tuesday morning.
Shelton, a sophomore thrower from Mars Hill, N.C., finished in second place at the Tennessee Invite in the Shot Put. Shelton's throw of 17.71m ranks No. 6 in all of NCAA Division II. He also set a school record in the discuss with a toss of 53.82m which ranks 11th in the nation.
