Mars Hill closes out fall play with victory over King

MARS HILL, N.C. - The Mars Hill women's tennis team (2-4) defeated King (2-2) by a score of 5-2 Wednesday afternoon at the Hart Tennis Complex to wrap up fall play.
Wins in doubles competition by the duos of Ines Rodriguez and Haley Steinkamp and Sophia Pelaez and Victoria Franklin gave the Lions the 1-0 advantage heading into singles play.
The Lions took four-of-six singles matches to seal the 5-2 win for their second of the season. Rodriguez, Pelaez, Franklin, and Cassidy Wilson picked up the singles' victories.
Mars Hill concluded the fall season with a record of 2-4. The spring season opens on Saturday, February 1 in South Atlantic Conference action versus Newberry at home. First serve at the Hart Tennis Complex is scheduled for 1 p.m.
