CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Mars Hill lost to the Royals 1-0 in South Atlantic Conference men's soccer action Saturday night at the Queens Sports Complex. The Lions fell to 2-7-1 on the season and 1-5-1 in the SAC. Queens took their season record to 5-6 on the year and 3-4 in the league.
Luis Campos scored the lone goal of the match at the 11:46 mark off a rebound. The ball was sent in by Corey Brown.
Queens outshot the Lions, 14-5. The Royals edged the Lions in corner kicks, 5-4. Mars Hill was called off sides three times to Queens only once. Chris Mitchell played the entire match in goal for MHU and made three saves. Matt Current also played 60 minutes in goal for Queens and made one save.
Mars Hill will host Lees-McRae in a non-conference match on October 14. The event is set to begin at 7:30 p.m.
