GREENEVILLE, TENN. – The Mars Hill women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to Tusculum College on Friday, October 14 at Pioneer Field. The Lions fall to 4-8-1 overall and 2-6 in the league, while the Pioneers improve to 9-2-2 overall and 7-0-1 in the SAC.
The game was a defensive battle throughout, going almost 82 minutes without a score. However, at the 81:36 mark Tusculum broke through with the lone goal of the game. A cross from the left box found the boot of a Pioneer attacker and just slipped by the outstretched hands of Maslyn Greene.
Mars Hill collected four shots during the contest, three of which came from the strike of Aleonya Hunter. Greene played all 90 minutes in goal, coming up with a career-high 13 saves.
The Lions will return to action on Wednesday, October 19, playing host to Lincoln Memorial. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. at Meares Stadium.
