TIGERVILLE, S.C. – Mars Hill scored two late goals to defeat North Greenville 3-2 in women's soccer action at Pepsi Stadium. Aleonya Hunter scored twice and recorded an assist in the win. The Lions improved to 6-9-1 overall while the Crusaders fell to 2-11-2 on the season.
Lindsey Tuten scored the first goal in the match to give the Crusaders a 1-0 advantage in the ninth minute. Hunter tied the contest at 1-all at the 23:01 mark. The team carried that scored into the locker room at halftime.
Tuten again gave the Crusaders the lead (2-1) in the 50th minute on an unassisted goal. Julia Johnson tied the match at 2-2 in the 74th minute off a cross from Hunter. Two minutes later (75:59) Hunter notched the match winning goal.
Mars Hill outshot the Crusaders, 12-8. Mars Hill edged NGU in corner kicks, 1-0. Mars Hill was called offsides seven times. The Crusaders were called offsides one time. Kaitlyn Danglemaier played all 90 minutes in goal for the Lions and made three saves. Michelle Huddleston played the first 57:78 in goal for NGU and made three saves. Madelynn Schober played the final 32:32 in the net for the Crusaders and made one save.
Mars Hill will play their final regular season match at SAC foe Anderson on Saturday, October 29. The match is set to begin at 1 p.m.
