Five Lions Named to BSN Preseason All-SAC Team
Six Mars Hill student-athletes have been named to the Beyond Sports Network (BSN) 2014 Preseason All-SAC team.
LEESBURG, Va. - Six Mars Hill student-athletes have been named to the Beyond Sports Network (BSN) 2014 Preseason All-SAC team.
Senior Dimitri Holmes, senior Shaikel Davis, sophomore Trent Miller, redshirt junior Denzel Goode and redshirt senior Nick Allison represent Mars Hill on the offensive side of the ball.
Holmes, who was named to the 2014 BSN Preseason All-America second team, caught 81 passes for 1,591 yards and a South Atlantic Conference-leading 15 touchdowns last season. Holmes was an All-SAC first team member, a Don Hansen third team All-America selection and was named to the Daktronics All-Region team.
Davis led the SAC with 1,323 rushing yards and 125 yards per game despite missing the final game of the season due to injury. Davis, an All-SAC first team selection, was a third team Don Hansen All-America pick as well as a Daktronics All-Region first team member.
Miller, the 2013 SAC Offensive Freshman of the Year, threw for 2,757 passing yards and 23 touchdowns. Miller averaged 276 yards per game in his inaugural season.
Goode and Allison helped clear the way for an offensive that averaged 429.6 yards per game, third best in the league.
