MARS HILL, N.C.-- The freshman class of Mars Hill's men's golf team is making the second-largest impact of any freshman class in the nation this season, according to Golfstat Rankings.

Mars Hill's freshman class ranks second in the nation in Division II in the Golfstat Top 25 Freshman Class Impact Rankings. The Lions have had freshmen Adam Lumley, Juan Santos, Cole Swezey, James Holley and Josh Rooney all place among their top five golfers this season. Lion freshman have posted an average 18-hole score of 75.06.
The rankings are sorted by Relative Strength, which produces a score relative to other freshman classes. Mars Hill received a score of 380.687, putting them just behind Barry University (383.101).
Mars Hill is competing in the State Farm Intercollegiate in Tazewell, Tenn. The tournament concludes tomorrow.
