MARS HILL, N.C. - The Mars Hill men's lacrosse team (2-7, 0-3 SAC) was defeated by No. 16 Limestone (5-3, 1-2 SAC) by a score of 16-4 Wednesday night.
The Saints led Mars Hill 6-1 after the first quarter with Michael McGarry's two goals leading the Limestone offense. Austin Stroud scored the lone Lions' marker of the opening 15 minutes.
Zachary Terry scored both of Limestone's second quarter goals, completing his hat-trick bid. Stroud assisted on Trevor Kennedy's first of the contest as the Lions entered the half trailing 8-2 after 30 minutes.
Terry potted another three goals in the third quarter as the Saints outscored Mars Hill 5-1 in the third. Cole Ross scored Mars Hill's goal.
In the final frame, Limestone posted three goals while Kennedy scored his second of the game with Stroud picking up his second assist.
Terry led all players with six points (6g) followed by Nate Senez's four (1g, 3a). Stroud led the Lions with three points (1g, 2a) followed by Kennedy's two (2g).
Mars Hill takes to the road on Saturday, March 18 when they face Coker. The contest is slated for a 1 p.m. start.
