HARROGATE, Tenn. - The Mars Hill men's lacrosse team (3-11, 0-7 SAC) was defeated by Lincoln Memorial (7-6, 3-4 SAC) by a score of 12-7 Wednesday afternoon.
The Railsplitters netted six goals in the first quarter, led by Gavin Reid's two. Trevor Kennedy scored two of Mars Hill's tallies while Cole Ross netted the third.
Mars Hill, entering the second trailing 6-3, outscored LMU 4-2, beginning with a 3-0 run. Kennedy collected his hat-trick while Josh McCallion, Austin Stroud, and John Hommel netted the other two Mars Hill goals with Hommel's tying the game at seven with 3:32 left in the half. Rhodes Conroy's second of the game sent LMU into the half up by one.
Lincoln Memorial held the Lions scoreless in the second half, netting three goals in the third and one in the fourth.
Kennedy led Mars Hill with three points (3g) followed by two from Ross (1g, 1a). Steven Smith made a career-high 28 saves.
Mars Hill returns to action on Saturday, April 15 in their final road game of the season, taking on Anderson. The contest is set for a 12 p.m. start.
