Men's Swimming Bests St. Andrews and Warren Wilson
MARS HILL, N.C. – The Mars Hill men’s swim team capped off another impressive dual meet, downing St. Andrews (163-80) and Warren Wilson (211-19) on Saturday, January 28.
MARS HILL, N.C. – The Mars Hill men's swim team capped off another impressive dual meet, downing St. Andrews (163-80) and Warren Wilson (211-19) on Saturday, January 28. The Lions finish the dual season with a 10-1 record.
Six different swimmers were able to collect at least a pair of victories on the afternoon. Freshman sensation, Erwin Ortiz, paced the Blue and Gold with wins in the 200 free as well as the 100 and 200 fly. Matthew Walker took top honors in the 1000 and 500 free, while Jake Moore tied Walker in the 500 free. Elijah Sears collected the 100 breast, Vitor Goncalves won the 50 free, Harrison Butler the 200 back, and Andy Disco the 200 breast. These four swimmers also teamed up to win the 200 medley relay.
The Lions will now turn their attention to the Appalachian Swim Conference Championships from February 8-11 in Christiansburg, Va.
