Men's Swimming Remains In Second After Day Three Of ASC Championships
CHRISTIANSBURG, VA. – The Mars Hill men’s swim team remained in second place overall after day three of the Appalachian Swimming Conference Championships on Friday, February 10.
CHRISTIANSBURG, VA. – The Mars Hill men's swim team remained in second place overall after day three of the Appalachian Swimming Conference Championships on Friday, February 10.
Two school records were broken on the afternoon for the men as Erwin Ortiz came in second in the 200 free with a new best time of 1:41.96 and Andy Disco placed third in the 400 IM. The 400 IM was a great event for the Lions as three swimmers finished in the top-9. Michael Piumelli (8th) and Brett Malmstrom (9th) joined Disco on the boards. Piumelli also had a 10th place finish in the 100 breast.
Grant Greenhill and Harrison Butler tallied third and seventh places, respectively in the 100 back, while Elijah Sears came in fourth in the 100 breast event. The 200 medley relay team, consisting of Ortiz, Sears, Butler, and Ryan Martin collected a second place finish.
The Lions will conclude the 2017 ASC Championships tomorrow morning.
