Milligan Tops Mars Hill in Border Battle
The Mars Hill women’s golf team was unable to overcome raw, rainy conditions as they lost the Border Battle to Milligan 167-112 in Stableford match play at Elizabethton Golf Course.
Elizabethton, Tenn. – The Mars Hill women's golf team was unable to overcome raw, rainy conditions as they lost the Border Battle to Milligan 167-112 in Stableford match play at Elizabethton Golf Course.
Emma Lundvall led the Lions with an 83 and 25 points scored. Victoria Barrett shot an 87 and earned 23 points, while Sarah Johnson fired a 92 and scored 17 points. Lindsey Ball scored 15 points with a 95, with Raven Brown carding a 96 and 14 points. Other competitors for the Lions were Katie Stroupe and Courtney Jo Simpkins.
Milligan's Ann Sullivan was the medalist with a 78 and 30 points. Cassidy Gibson, Madison Smith and Brittany Branker each finished with an 82 and 26 points in a tie for second. Mollie Stone finished with an 86 and scored 86 points for the Buffalos.
Mars Hill concludes the fall season at the Pioneer Women's Golf Classic at Nolichucky View Golf Course on November 1-2.
