Lions victorious at Lindsey Wilson Fall Frenzy
The Mars Hill Lions' swimming team dominated the competition at the Lindsey Wilson Fall Frenzy this weekend. The men's and women's teams won handily against the other five competing teams.
COLUMBIA, Ky. - The Mars Hill Lions' swimming team dominated the competition at the Lindsey Wilson Fall Frenzy this weekend. The men's and women's teams won handily against the other five competing teams.
The women outscored second place Campbellsville University 959-722 in 36 events. The Lions picked up team wins in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay, 400 Yard Medley Relay, 200 Yard Medley Relay and 400 Yard Freestyle Relay.
Bailee Bolin topped the group in the 200 Yard Breaststroke in 2:41.17.
Lorna Doorman finished second in the 500 Yard Freestyle with a total time of 5:44.02, second in the 1650 Yard Freestyle with a total time of 19:32.21 and fourth in the 100 Yard Backstroke.
Kathryn Boland picked up a victory in the 200 Yard IM in 2:12.24, 200 Yard Butterfly in 2:13.74 and finished second in the 100 Yard Breaststroke in 1:10.09.
Haley Horton and Rachel Nichols finished second and third, respectively, in the 50 Yard Freestyle and 100 Yard Butterfly.
The men's team won with a total score of 914, almost two hundred better than second place and host school Lindsey Wilson (717). They swept all 36 events, including team wins in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay, 400 Yard Medley Relay, 200 Yard Medley Relay, 800 Yard Freestyle Relay and 400 Yard Freestyle Relay.
Erwin Ortiz Torres won the 500 Yard Freestyle with a total time of 4:50.28, the 100 Yard Butterfly in 51.72, 200 Yard Freestyle in 1:42.76 and 100 Yard Freestyle with a total time of 46.83.
Angel Regalado secured victories in the 200 Yard IM with a total time of 1:58.45, 400 Yard IM in 4:15.27 and 200 Yard Butterfly in 1:53.93.
Elijah Sears won the 100 Yard Breaststroke in 1:00.74 and 200 Yard Breaststroke in 2:16.32.
Brendan Cyprianos won the 100 Yard Backstroke in 53.43 and 200 Yard Backstroke in 2:00.83.
In the 1650 Yard Freestyle, Matt Walker swam a group best 16:58.63.
