
Mars Hill named to NCAA Tournament for first time in program history
The Mars Hill volleyball team was named to the 2021 NCAA Division II Women's Volleyball Championship for the first time in program history.
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Mars Hill volleyball team was named to the 2021 NCAA Division II Women's Volleyball Championship for the first time in program history.
The Lions were selected as the No. 7 seed in the Southeast Region bracket. They will take on the No. 2 seed Anderson Trojans on Thursday, December 2 in Anderson, South Carolina.
Mars Hill played Anderson on September 25 and were felled in four sets.
The Lions finished out the year with a 21-12 (9-9 SAC) record, the most wins since 1998 and landed four players on All-South Atlantic Conference teams. The team is second in the nation in digs per set (20.18) and senior libero Ully Martins is second in the country in total digs (765) and sixth in digs per set (6.32).
