Stevens sets school record in 2017-18 season opening meet

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Shaniqua Stevens shined as the Mars Hill women's track & field team opened up their 2017-18 season at the JDL Fast Track on Saturday.
Stevens set a new school record in the triple jump with a mark of 34 feet, six inches.
Christine Foresha had her best track outing of her career with a personal record of 8.12 in the 60m dash and a personal record by a full second in the 200m with a time of 26.55.
Delaney Taylor finished third in the pole vault, just six inches off her personal record at a height of nine feet, six inches.
Cameron Saxon finished fifth in the long jump with a distance of 15 feet, 10 inches. Sydney Britt also posted a time of 6:25 in the mile.
Assistant Coach Brad Nagel said after the day had wrapped up, "I can't wait to see the personal and school records that will fall during the heart of our season in late January and leading into the Conference Championships on February 19th back at the JDL Facility."
