Mars Hill takes part in Winthrop Adidas University Invitational
The Mars Hill women's track and field team began competition at the Winthrop Adidas University Invitational on Friday.
ROCK HILL, S.C. - The Mars Hill women's track and field team began competition at the Winthrop Adidas University Invitational on Friday.
In the long jump, Shahnika Williams finished second overall with a mark of 5.66m (18'7"). Shaniqua Stevens finished 12th in the event with a distance of 5.09m (16'8.50"). Cameron Saxon placed 19th in the event. Tiffany Holloway finished 17th in the shot put, recording a distance of 11.37m (37'3.75"). In the pole vault, Jordan Bair and Taylor Delaney placed 15th and 17th, respectively. Each recorded a mark of 3.1m (10'2").
Competing in the Hampton Inn & Suites 100 meter, Williams and Christine Foresha placed 18th and 19th, respectively. Williams topped Foresha by .06 seconds, running a time of 12.66 in the event. Arriel Smith, Saxon and Stevens placed 38th, 43rd and 45th, respectively. Foresha and Smith also ran in the Sasha Robinson 400 meter, finishing 27th and 29th with times of 1:04.02 and 1:04.40. A'yana Dennis placed 38th in the event.
The trio from the 400 meter also ran in the Octavia Goode 200 meter race. Foresha was the top finisher for Mars Hill with a 26th place finish. Smith and Dennis finished 51st and 60th, respectively.
