Lions three-game winning streak stopped by Trojans in sweep

ANDERSON, S.C. - The Mars Hill Lion's volleyball team was swept 3-0 (20-25, 16-25, 11-25) on the road against the Anderson Trojans Saturday afternoon. Maddie Spurgeon led the offense with eight kills.
The Trojans, who sit second in the SAC with a record of 14-3 (8-1 SAC), dictated play throughout. Led by Marissa Mitter's game-high 14 kills, .520 hitting percentage and 21 digs, Anderson was able to tame the Lions and end their three-game winning streak.
Mars Hill's 17 attack errors hampered any attempt to upset the Trojans.
Abby King had 12 assists, extending her streak of 10 or more to four straight games. Sarah Pasour led the Lions with 12 digs.
Serena Jackson led the Trojans with five blocks and nine kills on 16 attempts.
The Lions fall to 4-9 (3-7 SAC) and will return to action Tuesday, October 10 to square off against Lincoln Memorial. First serve is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start.
