Mars Hill rallies past Southern Wesleyan

MARS HILL, N.C. - Mars Hill secured a thrilling 6–5 comeback win over Southern Wesleyan on Tuesday afternoon, scoring four runs in the bottom of the seventh to overcome an early deficit.
The Lions improve to 11–28, while the Warriors fall to 8–32.
Southern Wesleyan jumped out to a 4–1 lead by the second inning and added another run in the sixth, but Mars Hill's offense came alive late. Terick Bumgarner went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs, while Zachary Cimino added a solo home run and scored twice. Carter Potts and Chapel Matson each tallied two hits and extra-base knocks to spark the rally.
On the mound, Nate Crissey delivered 2.1 scoreless innings in relief with four strikeouts to earn the win. JD Lewis and David Ziolkowski also contributed key innings to hold the Warriors in check.
Mars Hill returns to the diamond on Wednesday, April 9 as they hit the road to face King University. First pitch is set for 3:00 p.m.
