Rankin named to D2CCA All-Southeast Region Second Team
The senior defensive back ends his career as the MHU leader in career interceptions with 18.
VALDOSTA, Ga. - Senior defensive back Tristan Rankin was named to the 2024 D2CCA All-Super Region II Second Team, as announced Thursday afternoon.
Rankin, a native of Hickory, North Carolina, picked off five passes and returned one for a touchdown this year. He placed second in the league with five interceptions. A SAC Defensive Player of the Week recipient, Rankin added 31 tackles on the year, as well as a fumble recovery. He ends his career with the Lions as the career-leader in interceptions with 18.
Rankin was named a D2CCA Super Region II First Team selection his freshman year, back in 2021. He would go on to garner several postseason accolades during his prolific career, including SAC Freshman of the Year, D2CCA & AP All-American (2021), All-SAC First Team (2021-24), and Don Hansen Second Team All-American (2022).
