MHU wins SAC opener, 75-61, over Limestone
The Lions open the season on a three-game win streak for the first time since 2014.
MARS HILL, N.C. - The Mars Hill men's basketball team (3-0, 1-0 SAC) defeated Limestone (3-2, 1-0 SAC) by a score of 75-61 to open their South Atlantic Conference schedule Wednesday night inside Chambers Gymnasium.
Mars Hill led by eight after the end of the first half, shooting over 54 percent from the floor. The Lions went 6-of-12 from beyond the arc with Kendall Davis hitting both of his attempts. Davis went 4-of-4 from the floor to lead all players with 10 points. Daniel Mayfield added seven for the Lions while Dinari Boykin chipped in six. Blair Crutcher led the team with four rebounds.
The Lions maintained their hot shooting, shooting over 58 percent from the floor while hitting an additional four three-pointers. Boykin netted 15 to lead all players, adding six rebounds. Kory Davis added nine points for the Lions while Donovan McIntosh scored seven.
Boykin led the Lions with 21 points and eight rebounds. Hed added a game-high three blocks. Kory Davis ended the night with 14 points and four rebounds while Kendall Davis added 10 on the night. He led the team with three assists.
Mars Hill shot over 56 percent overall on the night, hitting 10-of-21 threes.
