Lions fall to Cobras
Dinari Boykin leads team with 25 points.
HARTSVILLE, S.C. - The Mars Hill men's basketball team (4-4, 2-4 SAC) was defeated by Coker (7-0, 5-0 SAC) by a score of 110-97 Saturday evening on the road.
The Cobras led by 26 at the end of the first half, putting up 59 points and shooting over 51 percent from the floor. Judson Coan led all players with 18 points and seven rebounds. Max Hurray added nine points off the bench.
Chase McWhite and Kory Davis led the Lions with seven points apiece. Blair Crutcher led the team with four rebounds.
Mars Hill scored a season-high 64 second half points with Dinari Boykin netting 22 in 16 minutes. McWhite added 12 while Davis chipped in 10, hitting all eight free throws. McWhite led the team with seven rebounds in the frame while Davis led Mars Hill with four assists.
The Lions shot nearly 60 percent from the floor, however, just one-of-six from beyond the arc.
Boykin led the Lions with 25 points, adding seven rebounds. McWhite collected the double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Davis ended the night with 17 points.
Mars Hill returns to the court on Wednesday, December 11 when they face Limestone on the road. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
