Mars Hill falls to Tusculum on road

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. - The Mars Hill men's basketball team (4-2, 2-2 SAC) was defeated by Tusculum (3-5, 3-1 SAC) by a score of 84-59 Saturday afternoon.
Tusculum hit seven first half three-pointers to lead by 12 at the end of the first half. Malachi Hale hit two from beyond the arc whiel Denaj Kimber led all players with 14 points off the bench. Kadyn Dawkins led the Lions with five points while the trio of Marvin Hires, Donovan McIntosh and Dinari Boykin each netted four apiece.
The Pioneers hit nearly 56 percent of their shots in the second half as Hale went 7-of-8 from the floor for 18 points while adding a team-high six rebounds. Dawkins led Mars Hill with nine points followed by five apiece from Hires and Boykin.
Hale led all players with 24 points, adding eight rebounds. Akeem Odusipe led all players with 11 rebounds. Kimber and Bryce Jackson each netted 15 points apiece. Dawkins' 14 points on the night led the Lions while Hires and Boykin each added nine. McIntosh and Daniel Mayfield added seven apiece. Dawkins also led the Lions with seven rebounds while Blair Crutcher pulled down five.
Mars Hill returns to action on Wednesday, December 4 when they face Newberry at home. Tipoff inside Chambers Gymnasium is set for 7:30 p.m.
