GAFFNEY, S.C. - The Mars Hill men's basketball team (4-5, 2-5 SAC) was defeated by Limestone (4-6, 1-5 SAC) by a score of 84-64 Wednesday night on the road.
Limestone led by 15 at the end of the half, going into the break up 38-23. The Saints shot nearly 54 percent from the floor with Sirr Hughes leading the team with 11 points. Greg McKay added nine.
Dinari Boykin led Mars Hill with six points off the bench, followed by five from Marvin Hires.
Both teams shot well from the floor in the second half with Mars Hill hitting over 56 percent and Limestone hitting just over 64 percent. Railer Varges led all players with 15 points in the half followed by 12 from McKay.
Boykin led Mars Hill with nine points while Hires and Kory Davis each added eight apiece.
The Saints shot nearly 59 percent on the night. McKay and Varges led all players with 21 points and nine rebounds. Boykin led the Lions with 15 points and six rebounds. Hires ended the night with 13 points and three rebounds.
Mars Hill returns home for their final home game of 2024 when they host Emory & Henry. Tipoff inside Chambers Gymnasium on Saturday, December 14 is set for 4 p.m.
