Lions in Tenth at Tusculum Fall Classic
GREENEVILLE, Tenn.-- The Mars Hill men's golf team is in tenth place after the opening round of the Tusculum Fall Classic, which was played Monday at Link Hills Country Club.
Mars Hill is 19-over par with a score of 303. Dylan Payne turned in the Lions best score, shooting a three-over 74. Seth Sayler and Chase Dembisky are each four-over par with a score of 75. Mason Light and Lucas Harper each finished the opening round with an eight-over 79.
Lincoln Memorial leads the team competition with a score of 283, one under par. Jamie Chapman and Connor Froning, both of LMU, shot a four-under 67 to tie for the individual lead.
The Lions will have a good chance to move up in the standings with strong play tomorrow, with eight of the 12 teams in the competition separated by just nine strokes.
