Allison finishes 8th in mile, Lions conclude Buccaneer Invitational

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. - Noah Allison's eighth place finish in the one mile race highlighted Day Two action from the Buccaneer Invitational for the Mars Hill men's indoor track and field team.
Allison won his preliminary heat with a time of 4:27.28, which was good for eighth overall. Garrett Farrimond and William Barbee placed fourth and fifth in their heat, recording times of 4:42.01 and 4:42.98, respectively. They placed 25th and 26th overall.
Bryan Barbee placed third in his 3000 meter section with a time of 9:35.60; a time that was 30th best of the 50 runners. He was the highest finishing Lion in the race, ahead of teammates James Benik (32nd), Skyler Cantrell (34th), James Gilreath (35th), Matthew Rogers (38th) and Nick Resor (42nd).
In the 800 meter run, freshman duo Ethan Murray and Jared Stanley finished second and fourth, respectively, in their qualifying section. Their times of 2:05.28 and 2:06.00 were good for 34th and 37th overall out of 63 competitors.
The team of Nicholas Izquierdo, Cameron France, Malik Frost and Corey Whaley finished 17th overall in the 4x400 meter relay with a time of 3:43.63.
Tyler Holloway finished third in his shot put heat with a mark of 11.50m (37'8.75"). The mark was good for 23rd overall.
Bryan Smith and Corey Whaley placed 22nd 23rd, respectively, in the triple jump with marks of 12.40m and 12.37m.

Mars Hill competes next on February 19 when they take part in the South Atlantic Conference Championships in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
