Shermer Leads Lions at Lenoir-Rhyne Invitational
Junior Chase Shermer led the Mars Hill men’s cross country team to a fourth place finish in the Lenoir-Rhyne Invitational on Saturday morning.
NEWTON, N.C. - Junior Chase Shermer led the Mars Hill men's cross country team to a fourth place finish in the Lenoir-Rhyne Invitational on Saturday morning.
Shermer navigated the 8-kilometer course in 28:26.4 for an eighth place finish. Lee Johnson crossed the line in 12th place in 28:39.12, followed by Daniel Lerner in 16th with a time of 29:04.90. Nathan Wheeler earned a 25th place finish in 30:01.60, followed by Hunter Townsend in 30th with a time of 31:09.78.
The Lenoir-Rhyne Invitational was the final tune-up for the Lions prior to the South Atlantic Conference championship meet, scheduled for November 8 in Salisbury, N.C.
