Women’s Basketball ranked eighth in Southeast
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Committee has released this week's Division II women's basketball regional rankings. Mars Hill is ranked eighth in the Southeast Region.
The regional rankings will be released weekly on Wednesdays through March 2. The top 10 teams in each region were included in this week's regional rankings.
Lander is the top-ranked team in the region. South Atlantic Conference opponents Tusculum and Wingate are seeded seventh and 10th, respectively.
The Lions are currently 13-5 overall, 11-5 against in-region competition. Mars Hill will host Newberry inside Stanford Arena tonight at 6 p.m. ET.
The top eight teams from the region will be selected to the NCAA Tournament. Three conference tournament champions from the SAC, Peach Belt and Conference Carolinas get automatic bids, and five other teams will receive at-large bids.
The NCAA Division II Women's Basketball selection show will be broadcast on broadband on Sunday, March 6, via www.NCAA.com. The show time is to be determined.
