Lions face Tusculum on Senior Day

MARS HILL, N.C. - The Mars Hill women's lacrosse team (2-8, 1-5 SAC) was defeated by Tusculum (6-6, 2-4 SAC) by a score of 18-6 Saturday afternoon.
The Pioneers opened on a 6-0 run before the Lions scored the final three goals of the first quarter. Brooklyn Nemitz netted two goals while Chandler Werner opened the Lions' scoring.
Tusculum responded in the second, outscoring the Lions 3-1. Molly Salus picked up the lone Mars Hill goal of the quarter.
In the second half, Tusculum held the Lions to just two goals while scoring nine. Abby Cleveland scored both Mars Hill goals.
Cleveland and Nemitz led the Lions with two goals apiece.
Prior to the start of the contest, seniors Toni Morgan, Ivy Brooks, Rebeca Sanchez, Chandler Werner, Maddison Sage, and Haley Stallings were recognized and celebrated for their contributions to the program.
The Lions return to action on Wednesday, April 2 when they face Lenoir-Rhyne on the road. First draw is set for 7 p.m.
