Women's Swimming in Fourth Place at Sewanee Invite
Mars Hill got runner-up finishes from Abby Harty and Rachel Nichols on Friday
SEWANEE, TENN.- The Mars Hill women's swimming team is in fourth place after the opening night of competition at the Sewanee Invite. The Lions have so far earned 145 points, trailing third place Emmanuel with 157 points and ahead of fifth place King (123 points.)
Abby Harty finished in second place in the 50 yard breaststroke (32.72) with Rachel Nichols scoring a fifth place result in the 50 yard backstroke (30.06). Nichols was the runner-up in the 50 yard butterfly as she crossed the finish line in 27.93 seconds.
In the 1650 freestyle, Harty scored a third place result as she finished in 18:28.56. Elle Grier finished in fourth place with a time of 18:34.15.
Competition is scheduled to resume on Saturday morning at 9 a.m.
