
Mars Hill wins 2018-19 season opener over North Greenville
The Mars Hill women's tennis team (1-0) won their season opening contest over North Greenville (0-1) by a score of 4-3 Wednesday afternoon.
TIGERVILLE, S.C. - The Mars Hill women's tennis team (1-0) won their season opening contest over North Greenville (0-1) by a score of 4-3 Wednesday afternoon.
After dropping two of the three doubles matches, the Lions roared back to take four of six singles matches to earn the team win. Evan Lake lost the first set of her match, but came back to win the next two to earn the three-set win.
Victoria Franklin and Haley Steinkamp also won their matches in three sets while Kat Horner took her singles match by in two.
Steinkamp and Horner picked up the lone doubles win for Mars Hill.
The Lions open up their home schedule versus UVa-Wise on Saturday, September 22. First serve at the Hart Tennis Complex is set for 1 p.m.
