Mars Hill competes at Liberty Indoor Open
The Mars Hill women's indoor track & field team travelled to Lynchburg, Virginia to compete in the Liberty Indoor Open, hosted by Liberty University.
LYNCHBURG, Va. - The Mars Hill women's indoor track & field team travelled to Lynchburg, Virginia to compete in the Liberty Indoor Open, hosted by Liberty University. Competition took place on Saturday, February 3rd. 40+ NCAA DI, DII, DII and NAIA teams competed in the meet.
Several Lions established new personal and season bests in their respective event(s).
Women's Highlights
Throws
Bailey Beeman established a new personal best in women's shot put with a throw of 9.9m (32' 5.75"). She placed eighth in the Collegiate division. Beeman competed with women's weight throw, establishing a personal best throw of 8.45m. Beeman placed 43rd overall.
Jumps
Haley Eddinger placed 11th overall in women's pole vault. Eddinger cleared three heights on the day (all new personal best jumps) and ended with a PR of 2.9m (9' 6.25"). Eddinger improves her SAC Indoor TF conference standing to seventh overall in the event.
Makayla Rogers placed 18th in the Long Jump with a new personal best 5.01m. Alina Mueller placed 20th overall with a jump of 4.95m.
Rogers competed in women's high jump, placing seventh overall with a jump of 1.47m (4' 9.75").
Sprints/Hurdles
Makayla Rogers placed seventh in the qualifying round of the 60m hurdles, advancing to the semi-final round with a time of 9.81s. Rogers placed 18th in the semis with a time of 9.96s.
Simone Giggetts placed 11th overall in the qualifying round of the 60m hurdles. Giggetts finished in a time of 9.99s
Distance
Lindsey Jenkins, Sarah McNeil, and Brenna Hicks all competed in the women's Mile. Jenkins placed 64th with a time of 6:06.47. McNeil placed 79th, finishing in a time of 6:32.69. Hicks placed 83rd, finishing in a time of 7:10.50.
Sarah McNeil also competed in the women's 800, finishing 78th overall with a time of 2:57.95.
