Lions compete at Tennessee Invite
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - The Mars Hill women's outdoor track & field team traveled to Knoxville, Tennessee to compete in the Tennessee Invite hosted by The University of Tennessee. The two-day meet was packed full of exciting performances by athletes from all NCAA Divisions and the NAIA. Twenty-two Lions competed against some of the best in the Nation.
On the Track
Simone Giggetts ran a season best 14.78s in the 100m Hurdles. Giggetts won her heat and placed 11th overall. Giggetts ranks eighth in South Atlantic Conference standings.
Natalee Powers won her heat in the 800m run with a time of 2:25.41. Powers placed 28th overall.
Alina Mueller ran a personal best 1:08.66 in the 400m Hurdlers. Mueller placed 16th overall.
Grace Adams placed 23rd in the 5000m run with a time of 18:58.53.
Lindsey Jenkins placed 37th overall in the 800m run with a time of 2:30.59.
In the Field
Cierra Williams competed in Discus and Shot Put. Williams placed ninth in discus with a throw of 37.16m. Williams placed 14th in Shot Put with a mark of 11.12m.
Alina Mueller placed 10th in Javelin with a throw of 28.85m.

The Lions travel a short distance down the road to UNC-Asheville to compete in the Bulldog Invitational this coming Friday-Saturday, April 11th-12th.
