
MHU topples Emmanuel for fourth win of season
Lions win program-best fourth meet of year in decisive fashion.
MARS HILL, N.C. - The Mars Hill acrobatics & tumbling team (4-1) defeated Emmanuel (0-5) by a score of 240.320-211.505 Saturday afternoon.
The Lions led by over five points after the Compulsory Event, scoring highest in the Toss Heat with a 9.60. They extended their lead to over 10 points after the Acro Event. In Heat One, the 5-Element, the Lions scored a team-high 9.55.
Emmanuel took the Pyramid Event by a slight margin--less than a point--scoring no lower than an 8.5 in any of the three heats. Both teams scored a 9.7 in the third heat, the Open Heat.
Mars Hill regrouped in the Toss Event, outscoring Emmanuel 26.50-21.40. In the 450 Salto Toss, the Lions scored the highest with a 9.10 and followed up with another 9.0 in the Open Heat.
The trio of Nasiri Mond, Arwen Mamer, and Katelynn Huffman were solid for Mars Hill in the individual tumbling passes, scoring 8.1, 8.7, and 8.9, respectively.
Mars Hill closed out the meet strong in the team event, scoring 81.82 out of a possible 96.32 points.
The Lions take to the road on Friday, March 7 when they face Montevallo. The meet is set for a 5:30 p.m. start time.
