
Mars Hill defeats King on Senior Day
Mars Hill scored a season-high 246.835 points in the meet.
MARS HILL, N.C. - The Mars Hill acrobatics & tumbling team (7-1, 6-0 CC) defeated King (3-5, 2-5 CC) by a score of 246.835-237.405 Saturday afternoon in their final home meet of the 2025 season.
Mars Hill held nearly a two-point advantage after the Compulsory Event, scoring highest in the Pyramid Heat with a 9.55.
In the Acro Event, Mars Hill eeked out the advantage, outscoring King by a score of 25.66-25.20. They closed out the first half with a dominant performance in the Pyramid Event, scoring a near perfect 10 in the Open Heat with a 9.9.
The Lions led 90.25-86.40 after the first three events.
Mars Hill took both the final three events of the meet, kicked off with the Toss. The Lions recorded two 9.0+ scores in the Toss. The Lions claimed four of the six Tumbling Heats as the duo of Reese Goldberg and Katelynn Huffman took the duo pass. The quartet of Delanie Gamsen, Jennifer Quintero, Arwen Mamer, and Bobbie Russell secured the Quad Pass.
In the individual passes, Mamer and Huffman took both the 6-Element and Open Pass.
The Lions secured their seventh win of the season to remain unbeaten in Conference Carolinas action by scoring a 78.96 in the Team Event.

At the conclusion of the meet, seniors Sasha Galinsky, Bobbie Russell, Nasiri Mond, Andrea Martinez Miranda, Jocelyn Wente, Karrington Lacy, Rachel McGovern, and Victoria Chambers were recognized and celebrated for their contributions to the program.
The Lions wrap up the regular season on the road with their only tri-meet of the season, taking on Limestone and Lander. The meet is set for a 6 p.m. start.
