Football’s Randolph Voted SAC Player of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. -- Mars Hill College running back Jonas Randolph was named the South Atlantic Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced today.
Randolph, from Daleville, Ala., led the Lions to a 48-36 victory over Newberry on Saturday to put the Lions in sole possession of first place in the SAC. Randolph rushed 33 times for 183 yards and two scores, averaging 5.5 yards per carry. He also set a new school record for most career all-purpose touchdowns with 30.
Wingate University defensive end Jack Taylor was named Defensive Player of the Week. Wingate University placekicker RP Lopez was named Special Teams Player of the Week.
Mars Hill will travel to Carson-Newman on Thursday. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m., and the game will be televised on Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast.
