Mars Hill rolls past UVA Wise
The Mars Hill men's basketball team (2-3, 2-1 SAC) defeated UVA Wise (0-5, 0-3 SAC) by a score of 88-66 Tuesday night on the road.
WISE, Va. - The Mars Hill men's basketball team (2-3, 2-1 SAC) defeated UVA Wise (0-5, 0-3 SAC) by a score of 88-66 Tuesday night on the road.
Mars Hill carried a 10-point advantage into the second half, leading the Cavaliers 38-28. The Lions shot 45 percent from the floor with Kadyn Dawkins leading the way in scoring with 13. Michael Houge and Isaiah Jones each pulled down six rebounds in the first 20 minutes.
The Lions continued their hot shooting into the second half, hitting 55 percent from the floor including three three-pointers. Dawkins added an additonal 11 points while Isayah Johnson scored eight.
Dawkins led all players with 24 points, hitting all 13 free throw attempts. Jones led all players with 11 rebounds and added eight points.
Mars Hill shot 50 percent from the floor while the Cavaliers clicked at 34 percent and shot under 50 percent from the charity stripe.
