Dawkins nets 27 in loss to Saints

MARS HILL, N.C. – The Mars Hill men's basketball team (4-13, 4-10 SAC) was defeated by Limestone (8-11, 6-10 SAC) by a score of 87-72 Monday night inside Chambers Gymnasium.
In a tightly contested first half, each team shot over 41 percent from the floor. Limestone had the edge in three-point percentage, hitting 25 percent to the Lions' 20. Both Ben Gahlert and Ayden Hickman hit two for the Saints while Isaiah Jones hit both attempts for the Lions.
Gahlert and Kaydn Dawkins led their respective teams with 15 points apiece. Jones scored 10 and added a half-high six rebounds.
The Saints hit nearly 50 percent of their shots in the second half to the Lions' 33. Gahlert led the Saints with 28 points followed by Isayah Owens' 23 on the night. Gahlert also led the team with seven rebounds.
Dawkins added 12 points in the second half to finish with a team-high 27 points while Jones finished the contest with 13 points. Isayah Johnson led all players with 10 rebounds and added seven points.
