Mars Hill falls to No. 14 LMU
The Mars Hill men's basketball team (4-16, 4-13 SAC) was defeated by No. 14 Lincoln Memorial (19-3, 16-3 SAC) by a score of 100-54 Monday night on the road.
HARROGATE, Tenn. - The Mars Hill men's basketball team (4-16, 4-13 SAC) was defeated by No. 14 Lincoln Memorial (19-3, 16-3 SAC) by a score of 100-54 Monday night on the road.
The Railsplitters' balanced offense took a 49-24 lead into the half with the team shooting 57 percent from the floor and hitting nine three-pointers. Chase Rankin led the team with 10 points followed by nine from Mekell Burries and eight apiece from Jordan Guest and Alex Dahling.
Isayah Johnson led the Lions with eight points and two assists in the first followed by Michael Houge's seven point and three rebounds.
Lincoln Memorial netted another nine three-pointers in the second half with Matthew Sells scoring all 15 of his second half points off of shots from beyond the arc. Burries added an additional 12 points in the stanza.
Johnson scored a team-high nine points in the half while Trey Belin added six off the bench. Isaiah Jones pulled down six rebounds in the half.
