Men's Golf Continues Push For Conference Championship
ETOWAH, N.C. – The Lions men’s golf team completed round two of the 2016 South Atlantic Conference Championships in fifth place on Monday, April 18.
ETOWAH, N.C. – The Lions men's golf team completed round two of the 2016 South Atlantic Conference Championships in fifth place on Monday, April 18. Lenoir-Rhyne and Carson Newman sit tied atop the leaderboard after today's round while Lincoln Memorial and Coker are in third and fourth, respectively.
Adam Lumley continued his impressive play, firing a 73 (+1) for the second consecutive day to pace the Lions. Lumley currently maintains a fourth place mark in the individual competition. Teammate Chevy Hartzog is in sixth place after shooting a 74 (+2) on today's 18.
Alejandro Canizares picked up one stroke from his opening round score, posting a 74 (+2), including a team-high five birdies. Nick Caruso tallied three birdies on his way to a 79 (+7) on the afternoon. Levi Neeson rounds out the performers for Mars Hill, shooting an 80 (+8).
The Lions continue to lead the field in pars made (54), while also sitting in second, just behind Coker, with an average score of 4.20 on par-4s.
The third and final round of the championship will kick off tomorrow morning with the first group hitting the links at 8:30 a.m.
