Plougmand scores first career goal in Lions' draw versus King

BRISTOL, Tenn. - The Mars Hill men's soccer team (1-1-1) drew 1-1 with King (1-0-1) Wednesday afternoon on the road.
Peter Plougmand scored his first as a Lion just 2:14 into the contest. Plougmand took the Sebastian Bertilsson feed and opened the scoring.
The Tornado rallied in the second half of play, outshooting the Lions 12-6. Mate Lengyel, in the 76th minute, tied the game at one, putting home a pass from Ben Delisle.
King outshot the Lions 4-0 in the overtime frames, but Brennan Whalen was able to stop both shots that came his direction, preserving the 1-1 draw.
Delisle led all players with 10 shot attempts and four on goal. Lengyel added six attempts and three on net. Dan Roth led the Lions with four shot attempts and two on-target.
Dalton Gammon made three saves for the win while Whalen made seven saves.
The Lions return to the pitch on Saturday, September 11 when they face USC Aiken. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
