GAFFNEY, S.C. - The Mars Hill men's soccer team (4-4-1, 2-3 SAC) was defeated by a score of 4-0 versus No. 17 Limestone (7-1, 5-0 SAC) Saturday night on the road.
Angelo Fabricio scored the first two goals of the game, his third and fourth, respectively, to put the Saints up 2-0 in the first 28 minutes of play. Antonio Ferreira picked up assists on both tallies.
In the 30th minute, Alexander Render extended the lead to three, netting his first of the year while Pascal Werba collected his first of two assists on the night. Less than a minute later, Werba along with Sjur Drechsler assisted on Mark Radoki's sixth of the season.
The Saints scored on four of their five first half shots. The Lions, in the second half, matched Limestone with three shot attempts.
Fabricio and Render led all players with two attempts while Luke Manley, Alessandro Raffl, Dan Roth, and Sebastian Bertilsson all recorded one attempt on the night.
Johann Hipper earned his seventh win of the year while Brennan Whalen made three saves in the loss.
The Lions return to the pitch on Wednesday, October 6 when they face Lees-McRae in non-conference action. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
