MARS HILL, N.C. - The Mars Hill men's soccer team (2-5-6, 0-3-5 SAC) drew 0-0 with Anderson (3-4-3, 2-2-3 SAC) Wednesday evening.
With 16 seconds remaining in the contest, the Trojans committed a penalty, sending the Lions to their first penalty kick of the season. Jorge Perez Prada's attempt, his fifth shot of the contest, was punched away by Franco Antoniolli Funes, preserving the shutout.
The Lions outshot Anderson 13-11 in the contest with Perez Prada leading all players with five. Peter Plougmand recorded four in the game.
The trio of Wesley Ajavon, Ivan Cardona, and Lucas Goldberg recorded two shots apiece.
Antoniolli Funes made five saves in the draw while James Price stopped all three shots he faced.
The Lions take on Emory & Henry on Sunday, October 15 on the road. Kickoff is slated for a 1 p.m. start.
