CENTRAL, S.C. - The Mars Hill men's soccer team (3-6-6) was defeated by Southern Wesleyan (4-10-1) by a score of 3-1 on the road Wednesday night in non-conference play.
The Warriors struck first in the 20th minute as Noah Koch scored his third of the season. Nine minutes later, Brody Schroeder's fifth of the year doubled the Southern Wesleyan lead.
Koch's second of the evening in the 77th minute extended the lead to three. Just over three minutes later, Diego Fernandez broke the shutout bid, netting his third of the season.
Mars Hill outshot Southern Wesleyan 20-9 in the contest, including a 15-5 edge in the second half. Braxton Robinson led all players with four shot attempts. Cam Watts and Peter Plougmand each launched three attempts on the night.
The goaltending duo of James Price and Justin Williams each made one save on the night.
Mars Hill takes to the pitch on Saturday, October 21 when they take on USC Aiken. Kickoff in the non-conference tilt is scheduled for 6 p.m.
