Men's Swimming Knocks Off Warren Wilson
Mars Hill wins 113-63
MARS HILL, N.C.- The Mars Hill men's swimming team defeated Warren Wilson 113-63 in their season-opening dual meet.
Vitor Goncalves, Harrison Butler, Brady Rothschild and David Hallberg each won two events. Goncalves claimed the 50 freestyle with a time of 22.36 seconds and the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 49.21 seconds. Ryan Martin was the runner-up in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 53.17 seconds.
Butler claimed the 50 yard backstroke in 25.67 seconds and the 100 yard backstroke in 55.31 seconds. Grant Greenhill was the runner-up in the both events, finishing with times of 26.13 seconds and 55.69 seconds.
Rothschild was the winner in the 100 yard breastroke, finishing in 1:04.02. He also had the fastest time in the 100 yard IM, crossing the line in 58.17 seconds.
Hallberg won 100 yard butterfly in 56.29 seconds and the 50 yard butterfly in 25.20 seconds. Drew Rosser won the 50 yard breaststroke in 28.89 seconds and was the runner-up in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 22.62 seconds. Brett Malmstrom won the 200 freestyle in 1:51.81.
Elijah Sears finished in second place in the 50 yard breaststroke, with Brian Davis scoring a second place finish in the 100 yard breaststroke.
Mars Hill returns to action at Lenoir-Rhyne on October 9.
