Men's Swimming Leads After Opening Day of Sewanee Invite
Mars Hill sits in first place with 415 points
SEWANEE, TENN. – The Mars Hill men's swimming team is in first place following the opening night of the Sewanee Invite. The Lions earned 415 points, placing them ahead of second place Emmanuel who earned 280 points.
The quartet of Drew Rosser, Trey Mason, Ryan Martin and Vitor Goncalves won the 100 yard freestyle relay with a time of 41.66 seconds. The 100 yard medley relay team of Harrison Butler, Rosser, David Hallberg and Martin finished in second place in 46.22 seconds. Rosser was the runner-up in the 50 yard breaststroke (28.19), with the Lions claiming the fifth through ninth spots in the event.
Butler scored a second place finish in the 50 yard backstroke (25.57) and was second in the 50 yard butterfly (25.16), followed by Kendall Corbett (25.17), Mason (25.19) and Elijah Sears (25.49).
Matthew Walker finished in second place in the 1650 freestyle with a time of 17:37.88. He was followed by Hallberg (17:54.77) and Jake Moore (18:35.22).
The meet continues tomorrow morning at 9 a.m.
