Mars Hill finishes 10th at Sunoco Campbell Oil Classic
The Mars Hill golf team moved up one spot in the final round of the Sunoco Campbell Oil Classic Tuesday afternoon for a 10th place finish.
WALLACE, N.C. - The Mars Hill women's golf team moved up one spot in the final round of the Sunoco Campbell Oil Classic Tuesday afternoon for a 10th place finish.
The Lions improved shot their best round of the tournament with a combined 340 score, a 31-stroke improvement from Monday's second round 371. Mars Hill shot a 366 in round one.
Emilee Wenmoth was the top finisher for the Lions, placing 43rd overall, shooting a third round 83, her lowest score of the tournament. Janie Gooch had an 11-stroke improvement from her second round score, shooting a 78 on Tuesday.
Marie Syvertsen improved on her second round score by nine strokes, shooting a third round 90, tied for 56th overall. Jasmine Chesnut finished tied with Syvertsen, shooting 89 in the third round, eight strokes better than Monday's round two total.
Mars Hill will conclude the 2018 season by participating in the South Atlantic Conference Championships at the Woodlake Country Club in Columbia, South Carolina. The tournament begins on Monday, April 16th.
