Mars Hill falls to Lander in first road contest of season
The Mars Hill women's soccer team (1-1) was defeated 3-0 by Lander (2-0-1) Wednesday night on the road.

GREENWOOD, S.C. - The Mars Hill women's soccer team (1-1) was defeated 3-0 by Lander (2-0-1) Wednesday night on the road.
In the 29th minute, the Bearcats opened the scoring as Haleigh Bollig put home an Emma Sexton pass for the first goal of the contest.
Just over 11 minutes into the second half, Romie Llewellyn's first of the year doubled the Lander lead. Sexton picked up her third point of the evening by scoring her second goal of the season in the 70th minute.
Carla Humera led the Lions with two shot attempts followed by Bailey Whitehead-Price and Marianne Ross' one apiece. Camryn Miller made seven saves in the contest.
Mars Hill takes to the road on Saturday, September 3 when they face Mount Olive in Greensboro, North Carolina. Kickoff for the neutral site contest is set for 4 p.m.
